Training and Consultation

Positive Behavior Support

Olweus Bullying Prevention Program
The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) is a whole-school bullying prevention program. OBPP has three main goals: to reduce bullying among students, prevent new bullying issues, and increase peer relations within the school. While the administration, teachers, and other school staff work to implement this program, there are opportunities to involve community members and parents. Overall, OBPP is designed to help the school climate become more safe and positive for everyone. There are over thirty-five years of research on this program, making it the most researched and best-known bullying prevention program available.

Location: Onsite, two-day back-to back training with consultations for one year.
Fee: Varies by number of schools involved. Materials purchased by district.

Safety Mechanics
Audience: All members of the School Community
There are students who need physical intervention to prevent injury to themselves or others. Without proper training both staff and students can be harmed without a systematic approach to safely managing the student. Chapter 14 requires staff to be properly trained in positive behavior support and the use of any behavior restraints. Safety mechanics training techniques are designed to provide effective and safe evasive, defensive and responsive strategies to prevent injury to students and staff. This is an all day training with a maximum of 14-16 participants. (Larger groups can be accommodated with multiple locations and additional trainers.) Individual variations of the package can be devised to suit district specific needs.

Location: Determined by school district
Cost: $5 per participant
