PA Inspired Leadership

PA Inspired Leadership Initiative: Developing Leaders at All Levels

The Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Initiative, a project of the PA Department of Education, provides statewide, standards-based leadership development and support for leaders at all levels through a delivery system that is cohort-based and embraces the regional collaboration of the Intermediate Units and their partners.

Each of the eight PA Inspired Leadership Initiative Regions has a full-time Site Coordinator who assists with program delivery and support. In addition, each region has an Advisory Committee to assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of the regional leadership initiative.

There are two program components: “GROW” for principals and assistant principals with three years or less of experience; and “SUPPORT” for experienced school leaders.

MIU IV is the site for Region 8 which includes Intermediate Units 4, 5, 6, and 28.  Since September 2006, Region 8 has offered both the GROW Program to new school principals and assistant principals and the SUPPORT Program to experienced school leaders.
