Since 1991, the Midwestern Intermediate Unit has coordinated a joint purchasing program for all 27 school districts in Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties. Every
year, this program has saved school districts thousands of dollars.
For example, last year, we were able to purchase 20 pound, # 4 bond cartons of paper for $19.58. The market price was between $40 and $50 per carton. Our cost saved joint purchasing participants more half of the market price. Likewise, we were able to offer a 12-pack of white legal pads for under $3.54 as opposed to the $9 cost in office supply stores. In 1994, several non-profit agencies asked to participate in the joint purchasing program. Now, we are inviting you to sign up to save on your office, paper, and maintenance supplies. The administrative charge for this service will be 5% of your total purchases from the program. If you would like to join the next round of the program, please complete the joint purchasing agreement and return it to us.
