MIU IV offers comprehensive early intervention programs and services from screening to preschool classroom programs for children ages 3 to 5 who demonstrate a 25% delay of their chronological age in one or more developmental areas. The Preschool Connection In order to serve families, referring agencies, and early Intervention partners, MIU IV offers a toll-free number that connects parents and agencies to services for children under the age of 5 years. The Preschool Connection is often the first step in the referral process. 1-800-345-0033. EI Screening & Assessment Services MIU IV has a screening and evaluation team in each of the three counties. After a screening takes place, a preschool assessment team reviews the data and determines the need for further evaluation. After evaluation, if a child is eligible for services, an individual education plan (IEP) is developed. Children are then enrolled into preschool programs based on IEP team decisions. Once eligibility is determined through the evaluation process, then an individual education plan will be developed by the IEP team. MIU IV's Continuum of Services Auxiliary related services are provided when needed and defined in the Individual Education Plan (IEP). These services might include assistive technology, audiology, case management, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, health related services in the classroom, parent education, family services and transportation. |
